How Does Botox Work?
By now, practically everyone has heard the word “Botox,” and most know that it can be used to get rid of facial wrinkles, but how does it actually work?
Botox is a substance derived from a bacterium called clostridium botulinum, and when injected into the face, it prevents the unconscious muscle movements that force the skin to fold, which is how wrinkles are created. By making these muscles relax, the skin remains smooth, and existing fine lines and wrinkles greatly fade or disappear altogether.
What Areas Can Botox Treat?
Botox can be used to smooth out just about every area of the face, and previously, our team has used it to:

How Does Botox Treatment Work?
After talking with a patient and determining what they hope to accomplish, we’ll inject Botox into the areas of the face where they want improvement. A topical anesthetic will be applied beforehand, so all a patient will feel is a slight “pinch” for each injection. Typically, treatment can be completed in about 10-15 minutes. Afterward, full results will become apparent after about three days and last for three to six months. The skin might be slightly red and sensitive immediately afterward, but these symptoms are typically mild and go away very quickly.
